On Thursday, June 3rd, we conducted a webinar on How and Where to Deploy InfoPath 2010 forms. In this webinar, it was demonstrated how to use InfoPath in a variety of ways with SharePoint – making list forms, library forms and even rendering it within the InfoPath form web part.

You can watch the recording of the webinar in its entirety by clicking on the Webinar video on this page:

  • What’s new in SharePoint Designer 2010 – sess...

I’ll be presenting the session “What’s new in SharePoint Designer 2010″ today (Tuesday, 6/8) at 1:30pm – sorry for the late notice. The session will be in room 349. The session code is OSP09-INT. In the session, I’m going to be cramming a lot of SPD goodness. The planned topics are Workflows, XSLT List and Data View web parts, External Content Types, Restricting SPD and more if we have time. Since it’s an interactive session, I’m hoping to have a good discussion with the attendees. Also, I’ll be distributing 25 copies of a free SharePoint Videos DVD (first come, first serve). Hope to see you there!

Among the multitude of conferences that cover SharePoint, there is one which focuses on the Best Practices in SharePoint. Now that is a definite big plus in my mind since there are so many ways to build solutions the wrong way in SharePoint ;-) . Mindsharp and Summit7 systems are the ones putting together this conference in Washington DC, Aug 24 – 27, 2010.

I’m planning on presenting the following subjects at this conference:

How and where do I deploy my InfoPath 2010 forms to get the most bang for the buck?

Creating SharePoint List Forms – When to use InfoPath 2010 or SharePoint Designer 2010

  • SharePoint Designer 2010 Webinar Recording

On Thursday, May 13th, we conducted a webinar on Making the Best use of SharePoint Designer 2010. In this webinar, I started with an explanation of why you would want to use SPD 2010 instead of the browser to create your site components. Then I dug deeper into showing how you can create powerful workflows. Then the last thing I demonstrated was how easy it is to fetch data from a database and show on a SharePoint page. Along the way, there were many good questions that attendees asked and I attempted to answer as many as I could in the allotted time.

Due to overwhelming request, we decided to record the webinar and make it available to everyone. You can watch the recording in its entirety here:

    http://www.sharepoint-videos.com/sp10-webinar-make-the-best-use-of-sharepoint-designer-2010/

This webinar recording will be available for everyone until May 26th. It will then be moved to the subscribers only area.

  • List Workflows on SharePoint Designer 2010

In a previous article regarding Workflow Designer in SharePoint Designer 2010, I had tried to point out as many new things as I could think of at the time regarding the workflow designer environment. However, the fact remains that a video will always be a better way to communicate ideas than an article ever can (at least about a technical subject). So we have made the video on List Workflows using SharePoint Designer 2010 free on the site for a limited amount of time. This video highlights the following areas and more:

    • Designing workflows using the workflow designer environment
    • Moving actions/conditions up and down within and across workflow steps
    • Parallel branching in workflows
    • Workflow settings
    • Focus on a few activities: Send an email, Set workflow status etc.

Check it out and let me know your thoughts/comments. Thanks.
